Iqbal was an important Islamic fundamentalist with the assumption that Islam is a guide to the total conduct to the understanding of Islam in the modern perspective by reinterpreting Islamic concepts and values in the light of contemporary thought. The basic sources of his philosophy are the Qur’an, the Muslim Philosophers and mystics, and the Western philosophy and science. The objective of this study is to set down Iqbal’s metaphysics, political philosophy and aesthetics in an impartial way, though without stopping to offer critical remarks when called for. Special attention has been paid to his metaphysics which is the foundation for the rest of his philosophy.
