The present book A Study of the Dialectic of Hegal has been designed to bring forth the forth the significance of dialectic in Hegel’s philosophy system. In fact, dialectic is so important and pervasive in Hegel’s system that it frequents the reader at every stage in all his works. It is difficult to understand Hegel without an understanding of his account of dialectic with its amazing number of castegories and sub-categories. This study seeks to present Hegel’s dialectic in its three spheres, viz, Logic, Nature and Spirit. The introductory chapter gives a brief account of the concept of dialectic in Western Philosophy. The Second chapter dwells on Hegel’s dialectic as it is expounded in his Science of Logic which deals with Reason. The third chapter deals with dialectic as it manifests itself in natures whereas the fourth one gives a detailed account of dialectic as its is embodied in the philosophy of spirit. The last chapter, Evaluation, is an appraisal of Hegal’s dialectic as a whole. Briefly, Hegel is an architect of an Encyclopaedic system encompassing the logical the natural and the spiritual aspects of human existence this system of dialectic is the underlying this system of dialectic is the underlying principle of all movement andactivity of the reality. It is “the only true method’ which philosophy has to adopt to comprehend the Absolute idea. It is hoped thatk this study will help the reader to develop better insights into philosophical problems in general and have a good understanding of Hegel’s dialectic in particular.
