Dr. Abraham Mathew is Selection Grade Lecturer, Post-graduate Department of Political Science and Public Administration, St. John’s College, Anchal, affiliated to the University of Kerala. He has Post-graduation in Politics and Economics, besides Bachelor Degree in Education. He has served the Chairman, Board of Examinations, (M.A., Public Administration) University of Kerala. He is a social activist and is associated with social, religious and cultural organizations. He has served as the President of a Village Library and Youth Club for 15 years, currently the patron of it. He has initiated and implemented many village development programmes. He has attended many national seminars and workshops sponsored by UGC and All India Association for Christian higher education. Being an active member of YMCA he has attended various national and regional seminars. He has also served as the President of YMCA, Anchal. He took his Doctorate under the guideship of Dr. P.J. Alexander, a noted Administrator and Academician, professor and formerly Director, Institute of Management in Government, Government of Kerala. The rural background of the author prompted him to undertake a problem concerned with village community.
