The story of the sacrifice of Isaac assumes a central place in the religious traditions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. This story has evolved into a myth of over the years that every generation has tried to search for the meanings of their situations, particularly their sufferings. At a time when the interfaith readings of the scripture is prominent, the author believes that this will be a humble contribution in this direction. John Samuel is an ordained minister of the Church of South India. He is currently teaching in the Tamilnadu Theological Seminary, Arasaradi, Madurai. He is also serving as the Dean, Research Studies in the seminary.
