Agricultural Pollution

It is only natural that a question may arise in common man’s mind–can agriculture be a source of pollution? The answer is–why not? Has agriculture been practised keeping environment in view? Has earth been treated as a mother? Certainly not. Because we forgot the significance of our natural resources–land, water, forests, etc.–hence the exploitation of land resulted in pollution. Various means of increasing crop yields in order to feed ever-increasing mouths have brought about pollution. Heavy inputs of fertilizers to increase yield and application of heavy doses of pesticides to save the crops have ultimately boomranged and agriculture has become a source of pollution.
