Born to Madhu and Lalit Bhasin in New Delhi in 1969, Shilpa's schoolin gwas done in Convent of Jesus and Mary, New Delhi. She graduated from Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi in Political Science (Hons). She did a course in Modern Business Management from teh University of London. Coming from a family of lowyers, she took naturally to the profession. She is a gold medalist from the Law Faculty, Delhi University, Delhi. After completing her LL.B., she worked in the Supreme Court under Mr. K.K. Venugopal. She got married to Vijay Mehra and settled in Dubai. She stuck to her profession in Dubai and worked for a reputed law firm there and later worked as an in-house counsel for leading shipping company. Shilpa has great interest in music as well as in writing. She has made her base in Dubai and currently lives there with her husband and two children.
