An Introduction of Geography

This book has been prepared with the concept to introduce geography to new learners who do not have any knowledge of the subject but are interested in knowing it. As such as brief survey of the subject right from its inception till date has been presented in this book. in its beginning the book gives definitions, basic concepts and approaches of study of the discipline. It is followed by spacio-temporal analysis of evolution and development of geographical thought, which has been presented in simple layman’s language. A brief survey of contribution to geography by different civilizations like Greeks, Romans, Ancient Indians and Chinese, Arabs etc. has also been presented. Impact of explorations and discoveries and the development of modern geographical thought has also been briefly given. Man-environment relationship and other existing themes in geographical study have been explained with simple examples.
