In the early 1960s, the Ananda Marga socio-spiritual movement emerged as a powerful force in India, taking on critical issues including corruption and casteism. Due to its significant educational movement and efficient relief operations, Ananda Marga gained popularity in large areas dominated by Communist parties. During 1969–77, the Indira Gandhi-led Congress Party government, supported by the Communist Party of India, severely persecuted Ananda Marga claiming it to be fascist. This book narrates what took place when the Indian government went after the Ananda Marga organization and its founder Shrii Shrii Anandamurti, and how Ananda Marga continued to suffer since due the pervasive propaganda established against it.
