This book deals with an obscure cultural phase in the archaeological horizon of the Andhra Prades in the southern part of Vindhyan range during Early Historical Peirod in between the rivers Krishna and Godavari. The author carefully examines the entire archaeological material and other literary evidences and unambiguously identified an independent cultural horizon in between Early Iron Age Megalithic tribalism and popular dynastic rulers i.e. Satavahanas of the region, which is mingled with preceding or succeeding cultural horizon till now. The significant cultural trait is termed as ‘Andhra Culture’. There is ample evidence to demonstrate that many of the later or even upto present-day cultural systems are rooted in the Andhra Culture. The purpose of this volume is to high light the hidden cultural phase of the region during Early Historical period i.m., between circa 400 BCE and CE 100 which is still not well known like the Gangatic region, the other part of India. The present study emphasizes on cultural evolution, culture process, technological developments, and so on traits which were not only evolved for the first time but also prevailed hundreds of years in the region.
