ABOUT THE AUTHOR Qamar Hasan

Prof. Qamar Hasan is at present Chairman, Department of Psychology, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He is a well-Known psychometrician and exponent of the methodology of empirical research in psychology. He has contributed research papers in reputed Indian and foreign journals in the field of personality and social psychology, written articles for books edited by other scholars. He is the author of three books: Dogmation and Personality (1976), Muslims in India: Adjustment and REactions (1987) and Personality assessment: A Fresh Psychological Look (1997). His teaching and research experience covers a span of more than two decades. He founded and editied a journal Advances in Psychology for a couple of years. He is on the panel of referees of some important Indian journals of psychology. He served as Project Director for Research Projects sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research. Before joining Aligarh Muslim University he served as School Psychologist in the Department of Education of the U.P. Government.
