This book is an anthology assembling writings of scholars of diverse orientations who have special interest and competence in the area of Armed Forces. The diverse orientations of the armed forces in terms of its substantive contours through these articles have been faithfully presented to the readers. There are thirteen articles by eminent social scientists from all over the world, which is an encyclopedic gift for both teachers and students. These articles have not been labelled as the best, although they represent the best from each country.
