The book in its lucid style has attempted to unravel, from the very dawn of history, the story of the artisan of Kashmir on the basis of evidence and authentic reference. This book after referring to important ancient civilizations of the world and their contribution to the art and culture, has carved out, very skilfully the place of the artisans of the paradise. The inspiration to the artisan of Kashmir has primarily come from the rich natural environment of the valley. In the great irregular oval consisting of similarly shaped level vale in the centre, the rushing revules and streams criss-cross every dale and vale, presenting a pattern so pleasing to the eye. Meandering its path through the plains of the valley, the Vitasta in a zig-zag course, flows majestically making beautiful curves with its banks. The curves of the river make an impressive scenario touching every sensitive mind. The seasons change like the moods of Cleopetra. The spring excites with almond blossoms and flowering peach, summer with cascades of scented flowers and fruits, autumn with burnished leaves of majestic Chinar and the winter with the dancing flakes of snow. Artisan of the Paradise will prove a valuable asset for teachers, research scholars and students of universities in the disciplines of art and culture, history, economics, sociology and political science.
