Agricultural prices particularly of foodgrains and oilseeds play an important role in the whole national economy of India. They affect production decisions by the farmers and their incomes. Variations in prices of agricultural commodities is a big problem in Indian agriculture because of the dependence of production on monsoons. Agricultural prices exhibit spatial and temporal price fluctuations. Temporal price variations include seasonal, annual and long-term fluctuations. The present book analyses the temporal price variation in foodgrains and oilseeds and makes suggestions to minimize the variation in prices of agricultural commodities in india.

Dr. S.R. Takle is principal and Head of the Department of Economics, Narayanrao Waghmare College, Ak, Balapur, Maharashtra. He has published 12 articles in journals and periodicals of national repute and also presented papers at state and national level seminars and conferences. His specilization is agricultural economics. He is life member of several organizations of economists.

Dr. V.B. Bhise (b. 1955) is a senior professor in the Department of Economics of Dr. Babasahab Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad. Professor Bhise has contributed to many journals of Economics. He has earlier edited a book on "Economics Reforms and Ninth Five Year Plan." He is an active member of many professional bodies of economists.
