Dr. Dinesh N. Vakharia is a Professor and Head, Department of Biochemistry, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh. He received his B.Sc. (Chemistry) from Saurashtra University, Rajkot, Gujarat, in 1974, and M.Sc. in Agricultural Chemistry from B.A. College of Agriculture, Anand of Gujarat formerly known as Gujarat Agricultural University, in 1979. He was a recipient of Common Wealth Academic Staff Scholarship Award in 1983 for Ph.D. in Plant Biochemistry at U.K. Dr. Vakharia has wide experience in research especially Membrance.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR J.J. Dhruve
Mr. Jitendra J. Dhruve is working as Agriculture Officer in the Department of Biochemistry, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh. He has obtained his B.Sc. (Chem.) in 1988 from Saurashtra University, Rajkot. He received his Master degree in Biochemistry from Gujarat Agricultural University, Sardarkrushinagar in 1991. Currently he is engaged in completing his Ph.D. programme. He has published 7 Research papers in various research journals and presented papers in national seminars/symposia. His contribution to the science will be useful to scientific as well as to the farmers’ community. At present he is involved in research on various biochemical and molecular changes taking place during biotic and abiotic stresses in crop plants.

Dr. Sunil V. Patel, is working as Associate Research Scientist at the Department of Biochemistry, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh. He obtained his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Department of Chemistry from Bhavnagar University, Bhavnagar (Gujarat). He has 20 years of experience in research and teaching. At present he is guiding two M.Sc. students majoring in Biochemistry. He has published a number of research papers and also presented papers in National and International Seminars. Mr. Umesh K. Kandoliya is working as Agriculture Officer in the Department of Biochemistry, Junagadh Agricultural University. He obtained his B.Sc. (Agri.) degree in 1989 and M.Sc. (Agri.) degree in biochemistry during 1992 from Gujarat Agricultural University, Sardarkrushinagar. He has attended National and International training Programmes and published 6 Research papers in various research journals. He has made recommendations which are useful to scientific as well as farming community. At present he is involved in research on various aspects of biochemical and molecular changes that occur due to abiotic stresses and crop quality aspects.
