ABOUT THE AUTHOR P.C. Kotwal

Prof. P.C. Kotwal graduated from Vikram University, Ujjain. He did M.Sc. (1970) in Botany with Specialization in Forest Ecology, Ph.D. (1973) in Forest Ecology and D.Sc. (1989) Wildlife Management. His areas of academic interest are Forest ecology, wildlife, Biodiversity and Sustainable Forest Management. He is a recipient of prestigious “Project Tiger Award”. Government of India, twice in the years 1983 and 1993. He obtained Trainings on remote Sensing Application in Wildlife Management (FAO, Rome), Biodiversity Conservation (Bradford Uni.U.K.), and Protected Areas Management (Kasetsart University Bangkok). He published more than 100 research papers, books and monographs on areas of his academic interest. He is Professor at IIFM, Bhopal in the faculty of Ecosystem management & Forestry. He has a long and continued experience of research, teaching and training. He is recognized supervisor for Ph.D. research and national Project Leader of IIFM-ITTO research Project on “Sustainable Forest Management” and Coordinator of “Centre for Sustainable Forest management & Forest Certification” at IIFM, Bhopal.
