This book provides readers with an introduction to fertilizer and manure types and uses of composts. Importance of nitrogen fixation and major utilities of fertilizers in agro-based industries are given. An overview of dimensions of biofertilizers and their relevance is made. In addition, an overview of role of rizobacteria, posphate solubilizing bacteria and other biofertilizers is provided herein. The subject areas of green pesticides and biopesticides are covered. A model study of biofertilizers, bio-insecticides and biopesticides are discussed. An attempt is made towards understanding pesticide poisoning, related diseases and organic pest control methods.

Shagufta, Faculty, P.G. Department of Biotechnology, A.N. College, Patna Magadh University, is m.Sc. in Zoology and Environment (IIEE, New Delhi). She isd a dedicated teacher and an outstanding researcher. She has benn a recipient of special State Merit Scholarship throughtout her college and university years.
The author has completed her Ph.D. research work on 'Seasonal Fluctuation in Blood Glucose and Glycogen and their Hormonal Regulation with reference to Male and Female Immature, Mature and Senile, Common Indian Fowl, Gallus Gallus'. She has authored twelve books and her ten research papers published in verious reputed journals and books. She has attended and presented papers International and National Conferences and Seminars on environment. She is the member of environment wing, Confederation of Indian Graduates (CIG).
