At present a number of such protozoan species are known (References cited at the end) through the study of various workers like de Mello and his co-workers (1916-1937), Ray and his associates (1935-1969), Chakravarty and his co-workers (1940-1947), Janakidevi (1961-1962), Misra and his co-workers (1974-1981), Madre and his co-workers (1975-1978), Narasimhamurthi and others (1975-1982), Sinha (1977-1987) and Saratchandra (1979-1981). This paper lists these named and unamed protozoan species in two parts comprising of a systematic list of protozoans harbouring reptilian hosts and vice versa."
