This book provides Numerical problems with solutions indicating the fundamental principles of the Chemical Thermodynamics which are not available in textbooks nor it is possible to solve many problems with full explanations.
This text is expected to provide the students of Chemical Engineering and Technology both theoretical and conceptual parts of thermodynamics through solved questions and numericals.
Efforts have been made to include the solutions in both F.P.S. and S.I. for comparison as well as with the end objective of introducing S.I. system.
The book will be equally useful to the students of Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Engineering besides the practicing engineers and is expected to be of special assistance to those with chemistry background but working in chemical plant.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR G N Pandey
G N Pandey is currently working as Director, Institute of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow. He has been on the faculty of Banaras Hindu University, and Harcourt Butler Technological Institute (HBTI), Kanpur, for about 20 years. He also spent two years with the University of Michigan, USA, on a research assignment. He served as Director, Directorate of Environment, Uttar Pradesh, and Director (Technical), Indian Turpentine and Resin Company, Bareilly, prior to his joining this institute. He has guided about two dozen Ph D and about 50 M Tech students. He has five books and about 180 papers to his credit. His current interests are environmental engineering, energy systems engineering and computer applications. He has also served as a consultant to several chemical and allied industries.
