ABOUT THE AUTHOR Tim Winton
Born in Perth in 1960, Tim Winton is the author of thirteen books, including novels, short stories, non-fiction and books for children. His books have been acclaimed both in Australia and abroad and translated into 16 languages. Winton has received numerous awards for his works including Australia s most prestigious literary prize, the Miles Franklin Award three times, for Shallows in 1984, for Cloudstreet in 1992 and for Dirt Music in 2002. He was also shortlisted for the Booker Prize in 1995 for The Riders and in 2003 for Dirt Music. Time Winton currently lives in Western Australia with his wife and three children.
