This book, based on the class room teaching experience, has been divided into thee parts deemed convenient to the student community to wich it is primarily adressed. Part-I ,the most important discusses about the Rules, Facet Formulae, Subject Analysis, etc. To tell the users as to from where the isolates in each Facet are to be obtained. Each rules of CC-6 is explained with suitable examples in order to make it understandable. Another feature of this manual is that "Solved Examples" follow the discussion for evry Main Class included in CC-6. To provided the students with the opportunity for practice, an "Exercise for Practic" has been added in each Chapter. This book includes about one thousand solved examples for practice, answers to which have ben provided at the end. The basic theoritical concept of CC-6 required essentially to understand the rules, have been explained in part-II.It includes such topics as Fundamental Categories, common Isolates Devices, Phase Relation, among othor, and are suitably illustrated. Efforts have been made to clarify the concepts in simple language with a view to understand the Indian scheme, cnsidered one of the scientific classification system in the world.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Sewa Singh
At present, Dr. Sewa Singh is working as professor at Guru Nanak Dev University. Amritsar. He obtained his education from Kurukshetra University and Punjab University from where he earned his Ph.D. degree in Library Science. He has been a practicing Librarian and Teacher of Library and Information Science for more than 30 years now. Dr. Sewa Singn is a life member and former Vice President of the Indian Library Association: Life member and former Vice president of the IASLIC. He is the life member of the Society Information Science. Association of Government Libraries and Information systems. IATLIS and Punjab Library Association. He is also a member of Madras Library association. He is also on the editorial Board of the Indian Journal of Library, Information and Society, Library Progress (International) Indian Library Movement, and was on The Editorial Board of the ILA Bulletin. He has been listed in many biographical sources in India and abroad including the Roster of Information Scientists, Marquis’ Who’s Who. American Biographical Institute, Cambridge Biographical Institute, India Who’s Who of (INFA), etc. He has been associated with the UGC Curriculum Development Committee, and did UGC projects also.
