This book basically covers the life and works of contemporary scholars of Vietnam Social Sciences. Over the last 10 years as a student of Vietnamese Studies, I Have found that many scholars have created specific bibliographies dealing with super specialties. As a young student and later as a researcher, I have found that there were no recourses for someone like me where I Could gain insights into who the scholars I was reading were, and how or where to contact them, what their affiliations were, and that their other publications were. Some scholars of the studies need no introduction, but for many other it was very difficult to access information about them. I have therefore tried in this publication, to fill this gap in the study of Vietnam, especially for scholars in third world countries, outside Vietnam. The entries include a brief biography, a short note on the scholars’ educational qualifications, a record of the institution they are currently affiliated to, and of course their academic publications. This brief bibliography not only deals with the scholars’ main works relating to Vietnam but also their publications relating to other interests. Due to lack of comprehensive information relating to social scientists working in Vietnam, the coverage of Viernamese scholars is limited. Those Vietnamese living outside Vietnam and working on the area have been covered. The main motive behind this work is to provide accessible and compressive information about scholars who are involved in Vietnamese studies. This work is expected to be useful to all scholars who are interested in Vietnamese social Affairs.
