Over the last decade there has been a surge of interest in cough studies and a number of international symposia have been dedicated to cough. The present book consists of contributions by research workers and clinicians from the Medical School at Comenius University, Slovakia where several novel contributions to the under lying mechanism of various kinds of cough and their therapy, were made. Indeed this book is unique in covering both these domains and so was given this name by Professor Autar Paintal FRS, FRCP.
