Mutagenesis techniques even the newer ones have resulted in many impressive mutant varieties. The number of such varieties is high across plant species. This book provide details of mutagenesis for crop improvement in vegetables. Emphasis is given on induced mutation breeding, morphological variation, agronomic characters and biochemical investigation of viable mutants in vegetable crops. This book gives an over all glimps of how mutagenesis techniques can be successful for the improvement of vegetable crops.

Contents: Preface. 1. General Introduction of Plant Mutation Breeding. 2. Literature Study of Mutation Breeding in Vegetable Plants.3. Materials and Methods for Induced Mutation. 4. Results and Findings of Induced Mutation Breeding.5. Discussion on Findings. 6. Summary and Conclusion of Induced Mutation. 7. Biochemical Investigation of Viable Mutants.Bibliography.
