Of the many challenges which mankind has to face today, the most significant and most menacing is the problem of growing population. It is more acute in the developing countries. Family welfare programmes, birth control programmes etc. introduced by the government and voluntary agencies in India though effective to check the rapid population growth, can not solve the problem alone. There is an urgent need to change the attitude of the people towards this vexed problem with all its social, political, economic and ecological ramifications. Change of attitude can only be possible if ideas relating to the population issues are incorporated in the curriculum of the schools which handle the large number of future citizens and parents of tomorrow. The present study is an attempt to formulate ways and means for incorporating ideas relating to population issues in the school curriculum.
