The book has a simple and clear focus. It seeks to show how and to what extent do customary laws define the status of women in general and the Chakhesang women in particular. And the site for this study is the legendary village called Khezhakeno, which is regarded by several Naga tribes as the village of their origin. Whatever one gets to read about the village is in itself valuable for the Nagas in particular and those who research on them in general.
