ABOUT THE AUTHOR Sushil Arora

Dr. Sushil Arora passed his B.Sc. (Bio) with distinction from the University of Calcutta in 1974. He also did M.Sc. (Anthropology) followed by Ph.D. from the University of Ranchi. He has served on different posts as Research Officer, Research Fellow, Research Investigator and Research Associate in the UGC’s Center of Advanced Study in Anthropology, Ranchi University, Ranchi. Dr. Arora contributed more than a dozen research papers on diverse topics related to nomads and nomadism, tribal development and national integration, audio-visual media, behaviour pattern, aging, ethno-medical studies and on the Great Andamanese today, which are published from time to time in national/international journals or in the edited volumes. His main interest lies in thje field of social anthropology, audio-visual media in general and cinema in particular. Dr. Arora’s doctoral dissertation “The Movie Films in India and Its Socio-Cultural context: An Anthropological Study” was highly acclaimed from all corners.
