ABOUT THE AUTHOR Indira Srinivasan

MBA, Ph.D. (Music), USA & D.Litt (USA), FUWAI; Muusician, Poet, Artist, Journalist, Publisher & Palmist Sangeetha Vidwan (Music Pandit) Dr. Indira Srinivasan, studied music in Kalakshetra, Adyar and in the Central College of Karnatic Music, Madras under veteran musicians and received a P.G. Degree. She did her Doctorate from University of California USA. Her Thesis was a comparative study of India, Western and Algerian Music and of the influence of south Indian Music in the music of Algeria i.e., Andulaesian Music’. Later she did her post doctoral course in Music Literature and received D.Litt from International University, California, USA. She has given tuitions and practical lesions in Music to youngsters as well as elders, conducted programmes of Music and dance dramas and has taken a group of 34 artists to Thailand and Singapore on a cultural tour in 1987. She had given demonstration lectures on Indian Music in Redlands Univesity, California, USA, AND SCHOOLS OVER THERE IN 1971. In 1985 on the request of Algerian Government authorities she gave concerts in Algeria. Her articles on music in English in the USA, and translated into French and Arabic in Algeria, are preserved by the respective authorities. She has delivered lectures and presented papers at various Universities and International Seminars. She is Life Member and Honarary President in various organizations. Her poems and articles are published in various journals/magazines, newspapers worldwide; she received Michael Madhusuan Award in: 1997; All India Freelance Journalists Association Award: 1999; ‘Kavi Aruvi’ Award & ‘Healer of Millennium Award; 2000; The Trand Prize of Meritorius Diploma in 2001 (Italy), National Award for her essay in Tamil at Chennai, Merit Certificate as Poet Laureate by ‘Brainwaves’ Late Prof. Jagannathan. Recently her book ‘Under the Sky’ got best book (golden book) prize award at – International level from Italy. She has done various Management Courses, MBA of Washington D.C.’s Education Department and International University-USA; Language courses (Russian, Arabic, Japanese, Hindi & Other languages and presented two portraits drawn by her of Gorgi Dimitrov to the Bulgarian authorities. Her hand drawn greeting cards are appreciated by World Trade Personnel of UK.
