Degrees of Reiki is guide to the use and practice of Reiki. It offers a variety of ways of using Reiki that will encourage the reader to use their own intuition when applying Reiki to their particular needs. It is not a complete work as Reiki is beyond being confined to one way or practice and is far greater than what can be understood and encompassed by one person. However, it is hoped that this book will extend the reader’s knowledge and use of Reiki and open their minds to the vast possibilities that Reiki offers. Degrees of Reiki is based upon the methods the author utilizes when teaching Reiki. It spans each of the Reiki classes from 1st Degree to 3rd Degree as well as Reiki with Crystals and the 3A level of Reiki. The descriptions of the Reiki classes in this book are based upon the oral traditions of Reiki that were originally taught by Mrs. Hawayo Takata. The practice of Reiki has changed and evolved since it was first brought to the west; therefore, the descriptions are a version of Mrs. Takata’s teachings, not exactly what she taught. Since the discovery of Mikao Usui’s handbook, the western version of Reiki has sometimes been looked at with disfavor, yet its teachings still provide the Reiki practitioner with a solid point from which to study and practice Reiki.
