The 21 century is embarking upon the enterprise of promoting and protecting human dignity, fundamental human rights and duties. It endeavors a new era of peace and prosperity for humanity. The generations to come will be indebted to the United Nations for the World conference on ‘Human Rights’ held in Vienna, June 1993 which considered human rights education, training and public information essential for the promotion and achievement of stable and harmonious relations among communities for fostering mutual understanding, tolerance and peace. Since the promulgation of constitution the people pledged to work for developing India into a nation. The citizenship rights link the individual with the state and civil society. An individual tribal encounters in his day to day life with the state, citizenship and civil society. He has constraints of all the three in his behaviour. He is expected to turn as a good citizen. But he also expects something from the state for living a life of quality. Nation, Civil society and citizen work as fabric to the development of the country. The book revolves round this relationship. The book has vivid discussions on the Nation, Civil Society and Citizenship. It is hoped that the book will be a valuable reference book for educationists, political workers and researchers.
