Directory of Artists of Andhra Pradesh: Painting, Sculpture and Graphics

Andhra Pradesh State Cultural Council is an apex body constituted by Government of Andhra Pradesh with the Chief Minister as the Chief Patron and entrusted with the task of looking after the overall and integrated development of various aspects relating to culture in the State namely, the performing arts, visual arts, folk art forms, literature etc. In keeping with its objectives, the State Cultural Council has been designing and executing programmes relating to Culture and allied fields. The programmes are innovative in nature and research oriented. They are documented. Visual Arts constitute an important component of the programmes designed by the Council. To cite few instances, the Council conducted an exhibition of Paintings of Modern Art and a seminar on ‘ Current Trends in Modern Art’. Similarly the Council conducted an exhibition of ‘Modern Sculpture’ and a seminar on ‘An Overview of Indian Sculpture’. The programmes received overwhelming response from the artists, connoisseurs of art and the press.
