Disaster Management aims to reduce human suffering and economic losses caused by natural and technological disasters. We do this by helping the World Bank provide a more strategic and rapid response to disasters, and promoting the integration of disaster prevention and mitigation efforts into the range of development activities. Poorly planned development can turn a recurring natural phenomenon into a human and economic disaster. Allowing the degradation of natural resources increases the risk of disaster. This book will be devoted mainly to theoretical and conceptual aspects of Disaster management, risk assessment, hazard minimization and vulnerability analysis. This book also deals with the various elements of disaster management process: including the required disaster management plans for specific kinds for disaster management plans for specific kinds of disasters such as tsunamic, cyclone, hurricane, earthquake, flood, landslide, industrial accidents, oil spill, AIDS/HIV etc., just naming a few. Present book “Disaster Relief, Rehabilitation and Emergency Humanitarian Assistance” is divided into five Chapters.
