In the present book, efforts have been made to identify the problems faced by the seekers of Justice with respect to the delivery of legal services. The quality of legal services available to people depends largely on the competence of the members of the bar. For this reason, this study includes the views of law schools, law students and their teachers in our investigations. To probe the problem further, the views regarding dispensation of Justice were also obtained from other sections of people who are directly or indirectly related with the legal profession in one way or the other. The book is divided into twelve chapters such as professional organization, advocate’s fee, lawyers’ strike, legal services and public expectations, role of the bar councils in disposal of complaints against the advocates and bar politics besides introduction and findings at a glance,. Preliminary observations have also been made about professional over-crowding, traditional and socio-economic divergence, globalization of the bar, social security, plight of client, malpractices by para-professionals and other incidental matters. A selected bibliography has also appended at the end of the book.
