This book studies the international aspects of Indian economic development. Besides analysing the different theories of international trade and their relevance to the developing economies, it has studied such issues as the performance of Indian exports, their characteristic features, their structural deficiencies, diversification and linkage effects as well as meeting the country in trade deficits, it has gone into a detailed analysis of the effects of economic growth on exports, the effects of changes in the terms of trade on exports, those of changes in the structure of output in the structure of exports as total exports. It has also studied the effect of export on economic growth of the country apart from the analysis of Indian export policy in all its exports and the effects of India’s acceptance of the Dunkel draft and membership of the World Trade Organisation. It has also applied the appropriate quantitative techniques to test the relationships between the different variables.
