The book has mainly two parts: one, is economics of woman education and, second, empowerment of women. First part reflects the theoretical value of economics of education and the historical perspectives of women education. It suffers from path which has dual character one for male education with flat way and free for all, other side for female with Narrow Street and much more restrictions. So women education started later on and number of educated women are also few. Several problems related to the gender biased education are discussed in this book. If we consider the educational situation of rural India, the results with female is at minimum level. When considerations shift towards scheduled caste and scheduled tribes women the situation is very miserable, we cannot say that they live in 21st century. It is already accepted that development of any economy or country is not possible without projection of socio-economic milieu, we need to plan education systematically and meticulously, so as to grow with the current trend.
Second part of this book empowerment of women tells a different story that how women are kept under house wall, which was initially constructed by herself. Real empowernment of women is to liberate them from house arrest and they can live in fresh air without any fear with proper dignity and awareness. Several types of barriers are discussed in the path of women empowerment. The book reflects the situation to say women got nothing by the mercy of men but all with fight and struggle. Status of women are degraded due to working of more invisible and unremunerative works in the society. Several hidden social problems are discussed in this book related with empowerment of women, which will useful for researcher, teacher, students and progressive social thinkers.
