Education is one of the surest means to enhance development responsiveness and the evidence on the value of education in the development process is conclusive and positive but the significant discussion of current interest on relationship between education and development is about the rate of returns/benefits from different levels of education. The available evidence in this regard is still incomplete and the debate is unfinished. Keeping in view such a background, the authors got inspired to see the contribution of education in development and the present book is an outcome of the same. The book assumes importance in the present Indian context as Govt. of India is making efforts to achieve cent per cent literacy and to develop awareness among masses so that they can be mobilized in the process of development of the nation.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Anil Yadav
Dr. Anil Yadav (b. 1970) presently working in Sarva Shiksha Abiyan (SSA) at Hisar (Haryana), graduated in 1990 from Govt. College, Hisar and was awarded Master of Arts in English by Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra in 1992 and Master of Arts in Economics by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra in 2001. He was awarded Master in Education in 1995 and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in 1999 by Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Rajender Singh Yadav
Dr. Rajender Singh Yadav (b. 1959) graduated in 1979 and was awarded master of science in geography by M.D. university, Rohtak in 1981. He was awarded Master in education in 1983 and master of Philosophy in Education (M.Phil) in 1984 by Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra. He qualified national Educational test conducted by university Grants Commission in 1985 and completed his Ph.D. in Adult Education in 1988 from Kurukshetra University by availing national scholarship of U.G.C. Diploma in Population Education was awarded to him by Panjab university, Candigarh in 1988. He has served in different capacities in the Department of education of Kurukshetra university, as a U.G.C. research Associate, project officer in the centre for Adult, Continuing Education & Extension, Dy. Director (DPEP) in SCERT, Haryana, Gurgaon and presently working as reader in the Department of education, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. Alongwith producing several Ph.Ds and a good number of scholars currently working for their Ph.D, degree, the author has been guiding M.Ed., M.A. (education) and. Phil. students in their research endeavours. He has to his credit a good number of research papers and articles. He has contributed research Papers & articles in many books and presented more than 40 papers in international/national conferences, seminars and has acted as resource person in seminars and workshops. He has already authored two books (I) ‘Adult education, Training and Productivity’ (1991), and (ii)’ Adults Education-Co0ncept, Theory and Practice’ (2002).
