The constitution of India guarantees free and compulsory education for all upto the age of 14 years. For effective functioning of democracy in any country, the problem of educating the people does not end with elementary education. In India, Adult Education has been accepted as an alternative supporting mode to educate the left-outs from the formal system of education. Although the mode of instruction to adult is challenging and difficult, the present book highlights the impact and achievements of Education for All programme in Delhi. The study has been development and designed to check the effectiveness and failure of ‘Education for All’ programme. It also highlights the sincerity, devotion and difficulties of the volunteers, co-ordinators and other staff in implementing the educational objectives of the programme. The present book is a sincere effort to provide suggestions for carrying out the work further, especially to the organizers and governmental agencies so that they may carefully plan-out future mass oriented educational programmes.
