Educational Development in India

Education in India today is mixed bag of incredible success and staggering failures. The country has always been a major seat of learning for centuries, if not millennia. However, the present state represents a varied picture, we have, on the one hand, world class institutes, like ISB, IIM, IIT and AIIMS, churning out the best of students with the best of skills. On the other hand the country still struggles to comply with the Universal compulsory primary education goal of achieving 100% literacy rate, which still seems a distant dream.
