The book is divided into three sections. The first section reviews the works of both traditional as well as modern Indian poets. In the second section, the book discusses novels published after 1970 including non-fictional prose of R.K. Narayan and Khushwant Singh. Besides, Mulk Raj Anand has been described as an art critic. In the third section, five latest books of Nirad C. Chaudhuri have been examined, the most important being one on Hinduism. Further, in this section, K.M. Panikkar has been portrayed as a historian and D.P. Mukerji as a social scientist. The book will interest both casual reader as well as serious scholars.
