One of the major tasks of religion is to liberate the society from all kinds of dehumanizing structures. Paradoxically, even though India is a land of religions, almost all the religions have shifted its focus from humanization to institutionalization. Therefore, religion loses its liberating power. Further, in India Christian theology has been challenged by several dehumanizing factors such as poverty, inequality, communalism, fundamentalism, ecological issues, globalization and so on. In this context, Christian theology has the task to construct relevant theological methods to humanize the society. In this regard, this monograph finds a lot of humanizing insights in Marxian philosophy. M.M. Thomas and Bishop Paulose, two outstanding theologians in India, used some of the humanizing insights of Marxian philosophy to humanize Christian theology for the liberation of the society by transforming the dehumanizing structures. This monograph tries to develop the theology of humanization with the help of humanizing insights of Marxian philosophy.
