Encyclopaedia of Sports: Profilies op Sports, India and the World 1844-1997

Satinder Sharma (b. 1940) Ex-Senior Librarian endriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, New Delhi, obtained three Master’s degrees in Political Science, History and Library and Information Science.  He specializes in Gandhian Studies.  Worked in Delhi Public Library, Nehru Memorial Museum and Library and as a Senior Librarian in Government College for Women, Rohtak he has been in the profession since 1965-2000.  he has following books to his credit (1) Contemporary Approach to School Library (1982), (ii) Rajiv Gandhi-An Annotated Bibliography (1983), (iii) Health Science Publications from India-A Guide 1947-1982 with Supplement 1983-84 (1985), (iv) Encyclopaedia of Sports (1999) and Encyclopaedia of Women in Sports (2000).  He was coordinator of National Literacy Mission (NLM), under ‘Each One Teach One’ programme.  He was Resource person in the inservice course of Northern India/School Librarians in 1997 at KV, AGCR, Delhi.  Lion’s Club international honoured him with “Best Librarian Award”.  Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan honoured him with Incentive Award 1999 on the Teachers’ Day.
