Environmental pollution caused by human activities degraded natural resources and made many of them extinct. As a result the quality of environmental parameters has become a matter of concern locally, nationally and internationally. While the well-established concepts such as protection of environment, abatement of pollution, waste minimization and environmental impact assessment have maintained their relevance, newer techniques such as accounting for environment and environment audit have been evolved. The book presents a humble attempt to develop a fresh approach to the concept of environment audit. A group of manufacturing industrial units located in tribal sub plan area has been taken up as case for the study. In addition to highlight the present day scenario regarding environmental performance of the sample units, the book suggests the framework for environment audit. A model for environment audit including a comprehensive questionnaire with explanatory notes has been devised to help the industry to deal with environmental affairs properly. The book should prove to be a good addition to the literature available on the subject.
