Environmental degradation as a consequence of industrialization and urbanization since the last century has become a global phenomenon and it has now become a burning problem, focussing the attention of scientists, technologists, environmentalists and people in other walk of life all over the world. Several measures to preserve the environment have been suggested in international conferences held periodically and an understanding between several nations to take follow up action in adopting several measures has reached. Keeping in view the significance of this burning problem the book consisting of articles on three interrelated aspects of environment, energy and health has been written. In the first section, the articles have been dealt exhaustively on various aspects of land, air and water pollution and several remedies were suggested to preserve enviroment. The second section deals with alternate/supplementary energy resource potentialities and utilization and the possibilities for further utilization to meet the future energy crisis which is likely to occur due to large-scale exploitation of fuel wood and fossil fuel resources. The third section deals with technological innovations. The fourth section deals with a few articles on health, which is very much related to environment preservation. Some of the articles included in this book have been already published in newspapers like Hindu, Newstime, Deccan Chronicle and Indian Express and a few of them were TV programmes given by the author under Education Mass Media Research Centre of University Grants Commission.
