Nature has maintained a fine balance. The balance of nature is disturbed in the process of economic development. This is called environmental crisis. Economic prosperity of a nation depends on its environment. The agricultural as well as industrial development of a nation depends on natural resources. So, environment and economic development, both are closely related and interdependent.

Dr. Rabindra Kumar Mishra (1957) joined as a Lecturer in N.M. College, kantilo, Orissa in 1983 and now continuing as a Senior Lecturer in Economics, P.S. College, Khandapara. He was awarded Ph.D. in Economics from Berhampur University in 2001. He has written many articles on various aspects of economics in Journals and magazines. He is teaching Economics in both Arts and Commerce in various colleges of Orissa for last 22 years.
