This book is a collection of articles written by the author independently except two along with other co-author, mainly relating to environment, based on the findings of the research projects undertaken by the author in the resources-rich state of Odisha. It shows that the rate of environmental degradation deterioration particularly of water, land and forest (jal, jamin and jungle) has increased in the post-liberalization, privatization and globalization era which opened up to the private sector (including multinationals) core sector such as power, steel, mines, etc which they were not allowed earlier.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Kishor C Samal

Kishor C. Samal is Professor of Economics in Nabakrushna Choudhury Centre for Development Studies (NCDS), Bhubaneswar. His areas of interest are Informal Sector and Industry, Poverty, Macro-economics, Natural Resource Management. He has published about 150 research papers in esteemed journals. His other important published books are Urban Informal Sector and Tax Structure and budgetary Trends. Besides, he has completed more than 30 research projects funded by ICSSR, ODI (London), SICI (Canada), CDS (UK), RAS (Moscow), NALCO, Government of Orissa, Planning Commission and Others.
