N.K. Malhotra has obtained his M. Tech in Environmental Science from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.  He has consulted for Environmental Science, non-profit and Government organisations in the USA and abroad and has served as an expert witness in legal and regulatory proceedings.  He has special expertise in data analysis and statistical methods of GIS and GPS System.  He is the winner of numerous awards and honours for research, teaching, and service to the profession.  He has published more than 100 papers in major refereed journals, including the Journal of Environmental Science, Geographical Analysis, GIS System and leading journals of Environmental Science.  In addition, he has also published numerous refereed articles in the proceedings of major national and international conferences.  Several articles have received best paper research awards.
