This volume is a collection of essays on perspectives on the Indian Economy. (Which I have been writing since 1972 onwards). All the papers were presented and delivered at International, National and State level conferences and seminars on the respective themes and university level refresher courses to the faculty members. These papers are in my view useful in increasing the efficiency of the policies which may bring out structural changes at state and national level. The essays deal with various aspects of the Indian economy and perspective for Andhra Pradesh economy and also have implications for the National Economy to improve the efficiency and level of economic activity in the country. Most of the papers are topical in nature. I hope the content and suggestions made in them will be helpful to researchers in the respective areas. Some of the papers in this collection were already published in academic journals which are in wider circulation. I hope and trust that these essays will in some way or other be useful to one and all.
