ABOUT THE AUTHOR Amar Jesani
Amar Jesani is a medical professional having deep involvement in social science research in health for more than two decades. He has expertise on human rights and medical ethics. He has extensively contributed in government committees on health and internationally assisted the Human Rights Steering Group of the British Medical Association in preparing "The Medical Profession and Human Rights: A Handbook for a Changing Agenda" 2001. He was also a Member of the International Working Groups of the Physicians for Human Rights, USA and the University of Cape Town. Presently he is based in Mumbai and coordinating a training programme in research bioethics.
