Dr Basanta Kumar Das, born on 20th March 1966 is senior Scientist, Aquatic Animal Health Division, central Institute of freshwater Aquaculture, Kausalyaganga, Bhubneswar –751002, Orissa, India. His major research contributions are cataloging of herbal antibacterial agents and formulation of a chemical mixture to control microbial infections in ornamental fish farming. He has handled many research projects and has more than 40 research papers in journals of repute to his credit. He has received several awards and honours including ICAR Lal Bahadur Shastri Young Scientist Award, Jawaharlal Nehru Gold medal for best Ph.D. thesis and DB overseas associatesip award.
