When Gyana and I discovered each other in this world, we had no idea where our life was planning to lead us. We had no specific dreams other than to be together, wherever and however it was going to be. How we started our relationship and how we surpassed the turbulent roller-coaster ride with family and society is in itself an adventure filled drama worthy of a movie blockbuster. But this book is not about that; instead, it is an account of the first few years we spent together when we moved from India to the United States after our civil wedding. It is a first-hand account of the life spent as foreign students in the American university system, along with its myriad perks and challenges, and how we managed to make those first few years as priceless as any treasure can ever be. We did not know then that we would someday be writing a book on our experiences, else we would have kept notes to help us with a lot of the details. But those were days that have left such an imprint in our memory that we still relive them as if they occurred only yesterday. Since the idea was to document our life and experiences in an honest manner, everything that is described in the book happened as is.
