This book makes an attempt to examine that how far the foreign Direct Investment (FDI) has been instrumental in promoting exports from Indian manufacturing industries in the globalization era. The book commences with the description of concept and basic issues relating to FDI. The book also contains a brief description about the theoretical and empirical review of the existing literature. To examine that how far the FDI and Trade Policy of India have been shifted from import-substitution to that of export-promotion policy, an overview of FDI and Trade Policies of the Government of India have been also presented in this book. The book also contains a chapter on analysis of Trends and Patterns of FDI in India in the globalization era.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Karunakar Ram Tripathi
Dr. Karunakar Ram Tripathi is presently teaching as a lecturer in the Department of Economics, DDU Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur (U.P). He has started his teaching career from Department of Economics, CCS University, Meerut (U.P.) from October 1998. Later on, in January 1999, he joined in the Department of Business Economics, VBS Purvanchal University, Jaunpur (UP). Infact, he has been the founder head of this department. He was also associated with institute for Studies in Industrial Development (ISID), New Delhi for the period October 1997 to October 1998 as Research Associate under the IDPAD Project “Global Capital Flow and the Indian Stock Market” in the Institute.Dr. Tripathi has completed his M.Phil. from Department of Business Economics, University of Delhi and has done his Ph.D. from Department of Economics, DDU Garakhpur University, Gorakhpur. His areas of research interest are Foreign Direct Investment, International Trade and Industrial Economics.
